What kind of catering does The Deck offer?

Food and Drink at The National Theatre caters all events held at The Deck. Our team's love of the London food scene, combined with the creativity of the theatre, offers exciting and inspired seasonal menus.

How many people can I have at my event at The Deck?

The Deck is an adaptable space that can be set-up to suit your event needs and therefore venue capacity can also be changeable. Below are examples of some standard capacities - to find out more, get in touch.

  • Theatre Style capacity: 120
  • Cabaret Style capacity: 60
  • Standing Reception capacity: 170
  • Seated Dinner and Dance capacity: 100

What are the environmental improvements of the new Deck?

The new space is designed to be used year round with as minimal carbon impact as possible. The building will be thermally insulated to substantially reduce heat loss in the winter and the space itself will be temperature controlled through underfloor heating which will be linked to the NT's heat and power system.

It will be naturally ventilated, drawing in air through the side walls, and circulated by ceiling fans.  The glass in the windows and sliding doors will be treated to deflect sunlight and reduce heat gain during the summer months.

All the permanent installed lighting will be LED lighting and it will be locally controlled, ensuring it is only used when the space is in operation.
